Live To Suffer: Why Christians Aren’t Supposed To Pursue Comfort

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in 1 Peter 3 today. Who all is ready to suffer? Our human instincts tend to avoid suffering. But when we avoid suffering, we are being selfish. By staying comfortable, we avoid things that benefit the kingdom, such as helping out someone financially, giving up a Sunday to lead a Bible study, or sharing the Gospel with your coworker. This suffering could mean missing a meal, losing sleep on the weekend, or receiving an HR complaint at work. By staying comfortable, souls are lost. If Jesus decided to stay comfortable, we would all be doomed to Hell. But because Jesus decided to suffer for us, we can receive salvation. And if we’re willing to suffer for him, more souls can receive that same salvation.
