Our inspirational guest, Lori Schneider, was 43 years old when she woke up one day with numbness from head to toe on one side of her body. After a series of tests, doctors diagnosed Lori with Multiple Sclerosis. Being an extremely active person, Lori was tremendously worried about what it would mean for her love of mountaineering and her current lifestyle. Against all odds, Lori remained resilient and later became the first person with MS to climb Mount Everest. Many years later, Lori faced additional adversities with the diagnosis Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and the passing of a loved one. Through these hardships, Lori learned to have faith in herself and found strength from within. Listen in to hear how Lori was able to change her perspective and find purpose in life after so much pain and grief. Our final caller, Lindsey, wants to know how she can stay motivated with her homework when the subject isn't interesting to her. Nancy recommends Lindsey to look at her class with a new perspective. She encourages Lindsay to think that, even though the class might seem boring now, the knowledge gained could be beneficial in the future.
