Nathan Smart joined Nat & Laura in the Local Roots studio for this week’s Local Roots TAKEOVER! Each week we bring in an independent artist to perform and share their music in the studio just for you.   Hustling from Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula, 20 year old singer, songwriter and producer Nathan Smart radiates a unique pop sensibility, with snappy vocal delivery and soaring choruses that form infectious tracks such as the 2018 breakup-makeup anthem Jailhouse. Nathan began sharing YouTube covers as a young teen in 2010, developing upon his passion for music and video before his first original release in 2015. In addition to music, Nathan also has a meticulous eye for crafting visuals, directing his own music videos including the recent singles You Ain’t Got Me and Jailhouse which feature his signature music-matched lighting design.
