Lost in Translation

Translators play a vital but often overlooked role. They must listen carefully, interpret accurately, and deliver the speaker's message in real time without changing its meaning, tone, or spiritual impact. This responsibility becomes even more challenging when pastors speak rapidly, use cultural expressions, switch between languages, or become emotional during preaching. Translators must remain mentally sharp while balancing accuracy, clarity, and timing—all while worship is actively taking place. Although their work is demanding and can be physically and mentally exhausting, faithful translators help bridge language barriers so that every person can fully engage with God's Word.
