Love and Obedience – 1 John 5

Jesus said, in John 14:15 “ If you love Me, keep My commandments”. Then again in John 14:21, He says, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me.” Here, John says, that loving God and obeying His commandments proves that we love those who are born of God. Those who are born of God are those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, which was refuted by the false teachers of that time. John wrote Chapter 5 to reassure his readers that Jesus is indeed the Christ.
