Welcome to in Bolden, where through Bible scripture and commentary we seek a bold fate, and in doing so we share the amazing love and message of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hello, I'm Chris Shetter. I'm an ordinary Christian seeking a deeper relationship with our extraordinary God. Won't you join me?
Hi friends, we've embarked on a journey of love through the book of the Holy Bible. These little love notes of God's that are dotted throughout the Bible are reminders of how much He loves us and how we can love Him by loving others. I hope you enjoy the series. Today's love note from God comes from James 1, verse 12.
Bless it is the one who perseveres under trial because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him. And our commentary comes from a person considered the Father of Missionaries at Aniram Judson, and he was writing to his future father-in-law asking him to allow his daughter to travel as a missionary with him to the very dangerous territory of Burma. Whether you can consent to part with your daughter early next spring to see her no more in this world, whether you can consent to her exposure to every kind of want and distress, to degradation, to insult persecution, and perhaps a violent death. Can you consent to all this for the sake of Him who left His heavenly home and died for her and for you for the sake of perishing immortal souls, for the sake of Zion and the glory of God?
