Lower-power Rev C of the ESP32-S2 Feather coming soon!
from Adafruit Industries · host Adafruit Industries
The non-TFT version of the ESP32-S2 Feather has been out of stock for a few weeks because we made a design error in rev B and want to fix it before putting back in the shop. We used a P-Channel FET to enable/disable the Stemma QT / I2C power but kept the pullups connected to 3.3V (this was on purpose because the onboard LC709 battery monitor is powered from the battery and this would let you read the battery state without having to enable the I2C power). when a bunch of QT sensors get attached, the leakage from the pullups turns into quite a power sink. for example, here we have 4 I2C devices on the bus and you can see the 'deep sleep' current is a whoppin' 700uA! no good...by switching to a separate regulator and connecting the pullups to the regulator output we get a cool 70uA as we expect. now we can send off this pcb to get this popular feather restocked - sign up at https://www.adafruit.com/product/5000 to get notified! #adafruit #feather #esp32 Visit the Adafruit shop online - http://www.adafruit.com ----------------------------------------- LIVE CHAT IS HERE! http://adafru.it/discord Adafruit on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adafruit Subscribe to Adafruit on YouTube: http://adafru.it/subscribe New tutorials on the Adafruit Learning System: http://learn.adafruit.com/ -----------------------------------------
