𝗜𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 — 𝗼𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁? At Legaltech Hub Horizons, David met with Horace Wu, Founder and CEO of Syntheia, to talk about where Gen AI actually helps lawyers — and where it doesn't. Horace's take: Gen AI is probabilistic — ask it twice, get two different answers. For legal work, that inconsistency is a real risk, not a quirk. His analogy: it's the electric motor arriving in a world built around steam engines. You don't rip out the steam engine — you figure out exactly where the motor belongs. 💡 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: → Adoption isn't value. Firms need to look beyond usage and ask what value is actually being created. → Deterministic technology can complement Gen AI where consistency and predictability matter. → "Hard work is the point." There is still value in lawyers learning through doing the work. → Clients should be the guiding light. Technology should ultimately improve the service and outcomes they receive. Behind closed doors, innovation leaders admit it: Revenue isn't up. Costs aren't down. The industry is still figuring out where the real value is. #LegalTech #LegalInnovation #GenAI #ArtificialIntelligence #LawFirms #LegalIndustry #Deterministic #FutureOfLaw #LegalTechHub
