Lucas Mooningham: Professional Bull Rider

from Motivate with Coach Camp · host Coach Camp

Time to Cowboy Up – My Guest, Professional Bull Rider, Lucas Mooningham. “It’s the bulls and blood, the dust and the mud, it’s the roar of the Sunday crowd.” I feel it is safe to say that a lot of times we will find all the ways we can fail at something before we find one way that we could be successful at something.  If we are being honest with ourselves, we will admit that it is easier to be pessimistic than it is to be optimistic.  Then if you add an element of danger to that challenge it can be even easier to walk away. This week’s guest would be the exception to this train of thought.  At the age of 17 he decided that he wanted to give bull riding a try.  He didn’t have anyone in his life that had ever ridden bulls and only had informal training from the information he could find on the internet.  Mr. Mooningham’s father thought that if he let him try a ride then he might not be so interested.  Well, instead of deterring him from wanting to bull ride it actually solidified and validated his desire to pursue it full time. Mr. Mooningham describes how he slowly grew his talent and eventually became a pro-rider that travels all over the U.S. competing in rodeos.  The determination, grit, perseverance, and passion can be felt as he describes his journey and where he hopes to take his career before having to hang up his bull rope.  If you want to follow his progress through the pro circuit and where he will be riding next, you can follow him on his Facebook page, Lucas Wade Mooningham.
