from Iliad (Pope Translation) · host Homer

Lucian's Dialogues Volume 1, The Dialogues of the Gods, presents a thought-provoking exploration of divine interactions through the lens of satire and wit. Lucian of Samosata, a master of rhetorical dialogue, crafts conversations among the gods that challenge traditional beliefs and provoke critical thinking about faith and morality. This volume invites listeners to reflect on the nature of divinity and the absurdities of human worship, themes that remain relevant as we navigate our own beliefs in a complex world. By blending humor with philosophical inquiry, Lucian's work continues to resonate, reminding us of the enduring power of dialogue in the quest for understanding.

The Art of Arms l’Arte Dell Armi At the Art of Arms we have one solitary vision, to bring the historical martial arts we study as HEMA or WMA practitioners to life by telling the stories of those who lived it. The hours of research, writing, transcription and translation are worth it when we get to see Altoni’s Spiedo section in action at the Baglioni Palazzo, Fiore’s armor techniques displayed on the battlefields of San Giovanni in Persiceto, Liectenauer’s rossfechten techniques thundering across the terrain of southern Germany, the Anonimo’s sword and gauntlet brought to bear in the lists of Mantua; these are the moments where history and martial arts meet, and we’re dedicated to bringing these moments to you our dear listeners. We hope you enjoy! The Law Dave Jones This translation of The Law was done by Dean Russell of The Foundation staff. His objective was an accurate rendering of Mr. Bastiat's words and ideas into twentieth century, idiomatic English. A nineteenth century translation of The Law, made in 1853 in England by an unidentified contemporary of Mr. Bastiat, was of much value as a check against this translation. In addition, Dean Russell had his work reviewed by Bertrand de Jouvenel, the noted French economist, historian, and author who is also thoroughly familiar with the English language. While Mr. de Jouvenel offered many valuable corrections and suggestions, it should be clearly understood that Dr. Russell bears full responsibility for the translation.
