The more you spend on a home, car and other big ticket items the more you are likely to waste in money and energy., with little in return. Take cars. Expensive cars use more gas than compacts. Fancy refrigerators with ice-making machines in the door, same thing. Also, those luxurious gas ovens. McMansions are more likely to waste energy because they are more likely to have chimneys, which waste energy all year long.
