There we see the Lord at work in two very different lives: Lydia, whose heart is opened by God to receive Paul’s message, and a slave girl, who is trapped in spiritual bondage and exploitation. This passage reminds us that Christ is King over the nations, sovereign over salvation, and powerful to free those enslaved by darkness.
