Lying media "too big to fail?"

from Tea With George · host George Caylor

We have seen when some banks have been considered “too big to fail.” They are considered so essential that we must excuse their ineptitude. We prop them up with money taken from citizens. Today we are also seeing news outlets that are “too big to lie.” We hang on every word, never doubting that they may be leaving out inconvenient truths - or even lying to us outright. This undeserved faith in the media comes from an unbiblical, and therefore unrealistic view of human nature as “basically good .” We then extend this thinking to government officials, medical personnel, and also the news media. Because we have this faith, we even ignore it when they are caught in an outright lie. And even when they say things that don’t make sense, and therefore don’t pass the giggle test. Yes, it is inconvenient to believe the Bible about “fallen human nature.” But it will be a whole lot more inconvenient to not believe it!
