MACHIVENTA MELCHIZEDEK - Earth's Hero! Part 12: The Salem Teachings in Egypt

This week we continue our study of Melchizedek, King of Salem. Melchizedek is counted in the Bible, Hebrews 7:3, as one, "Without father or mother or genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God, he remains a priest for all time." Melchizedek lived and taught on earth for 94 years. Urantia Papers 93-98 are devoted to Melchizedek with Papers 96 and 97 treating the Hebrew religion's evolution--the world religion most heavily influenced, at least initiated, by his teachings. The Salem teachers made their deepest influences in Egypt and it was much to the advantage of the subsequent religious teachers of the time. From Egypt alone sprang the teachings of Amenemope, Ikhnaton, and Moses. Many of the former writings becoming credited to Hebrew authorship within the Old Testament.  [95:2.1 As India in these days harbored the highest mixture of the world races, so Egypt fostered the most thoroughly blended type of religious philosophy to be found on Urantia, and from the Nile valley it spread to many parts of the world. The Jews received much of their idea of the creation of the world from the Babylonians, but they derived the concept of divine Providence from the Egyptians.] In the ancient Nile Valley we can trace the evolution of morality and ethics, from blatant nature worship up to the exhaltaion of the One true God of all.  [95:2.10 The concept of judgment in the hereafter for the sins of one’s life in the flesh on earth was carried over into Hebrew theology from Egypt.
