Made in the (School) Shade

from The Long Road Hosted by Ron Jones

There is a "growing" movement out of California to plant school forests. Having outdoor classrooms and surrounding children with nature is not a new idea, but this is a modern way to address the current problem of hardscaped asphalt schoolyards and to improve health and well-being along with behavior patterns in our youth. I'll cite some current research and emerging trends that can improve our children and communities. *Reference: https://www.governing.com/community/reimagining-schoolyards-to-improve-health-and-learning *Photo Credit: Ron Jones
