MADRID REMEMBER 90s – 90 MINUTES OF PURE ESSENCE, part II

from Podcast de elcepri

Madrid, 1991–1993: The Generation of Vinyl and the Dancefloor Crossing the thresholds of mythical temples like Attica (the temple of the A-2 highway), Van Vas in Villalba, New World, Epsilon, or the after-hour morning sessions at Voltereta, meant stepping into another dimension. Madrid didn’t sleep; it chained night into day under a brotherhood that communicated without words, using nothing but the rhythm. We were the generation that grew up glued to cassette tapes recorded from the radio, the ones who wore out our sneakers on dark dancefloors illuminated only by strobes and green lasers, and the ones who lived clubbing as a ritual of absolute freedom. The Anatomy of the Sound: From Darkness to Euphoria A set from that golden era was never linear; it was a mental and physical journey slow-cooked on the mixing desk, pushing from 130 up to 145 BPM as the night unfolded. The Industrial & EBM (Electronic Body Music) Warm-up: The session began thick and heavy, driven by the mechanical heartbeat inherited from the late '80s. Sharp drum machines, metallic samples, and martial basslines (in the vein of Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, or the sound of pioneering Spanish labels like Megabeat). It was the mental preparation—the darkness before the storm. The Acid Invasion and the Fury of Techno: Suddenly, the DJ unleashed the whip. The squelching, screeching sound of the mythical Roland TB-303 bassline began to modulate. Acid Techno from the Frankfurt and Detroit schools tore the dancefloor wide open. The kicks became relentless, dry, and fast. There was no turning back: the crowd transformed into a sweating, undulating human tide moving as one. The Climax of Early Trance: As the first light of dawn began to creep through the cracks of the club, or as the parking lots filled with cars with their trunks wide open, the sound mutated into Early Trance. Hypnotic melodies, spatial atmospheres, and epic chords that gave you goosebumps. It was a collective catharsis—a feeling of floating at 140 beats per minute. #Madrid90s #Generacion90s #RutaDelBakalao #AquellosMaravillososAños #AquellosAños #ViejosTiempos #ClubbingNostalgia #Pioneros #AtticaMadrid #DiscotecaAttica #VanVas #NewWorldMadrid #EpsilonMadrid #VolteretaMadrid #SpektrumMadrid #RetroTechno #EarlyTechno #AcidTechno #EarlyTrance #ClassicTrance #EBM #IndustrialMusic #90sTechno #VinylOnly #SoloVinilo #TB303 #RetroSet #RememberSession #SesionRemember #TechnoClassics #ElectronicMusicHistory #PodcastTechno
