Magic Mushroom Hour w/Omega Let the Music Set you Free Episode 2351

from Magic Mushroom Hour with Omega · host mrheld

Tonight’s program felt just right — leaning a little toward Country-Blues Classic Rock, the kind of music that inspires and sends us back to a sweeter time. We opened with a short set featuring Silas Crane, The Red Clay Strays, Charlie Starr and Blackberry Smoke, and Chris Robinson. From there, we dug into a few beautiful cuts from bands many people haven’t heard in nearly fifty years, starting with The Blue Jems and moving on to Waning Crescent. The night also included a couple of great songs from the Fogerty Brothers and Creedence, along with David Crosby and The Byrds. One of my favorites followed — Susan Tedeschi performing a Bob Dylan song — before drifting into Stevie Winwood and Traffic from the album When the Eagle Flies. We kept the groove going with The Black Crowes, Johnny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and the powerful pairing of Paul Kossoff and Paul Rodgers. Later, we heard “Back Pages” with Eric Clapton and Tom Petty, along with a couple of early tunes from the lads from Liverpool. To close the show, we finished with some wonderful music from Chris and Rich Robinson, some of the best cuts from Creedence, a great track from Chicago, and finally signed off with Firefall. Great songs, great writers, and timeless sounds from the past. Our journey through the soundwaves comes to a close for tonight. The vinyl may stop spinning, but the music never really ends. Somewhere out there, another song is waiting to be discovered. Until we meet again on the long cosmic road… Keep your mind open, your heart free, and let the frequencies guide you. Good night, travelers. Headphones are preferred,  download to your car audio!  Remastered Classic Rock is always better this way, since we don’t use the stereo systems from the '70s anymore. Remember those Magma Planners, or ESS towers? This is an FM Broadcast on North Carolina Public Radio. No Ads, no Promotion, no Money involved—just the Love of Music. Classic Rock and Progressive Rock! If you like long-form plays, this is your station, sometimes mellow, sometimes hard. 3 hours of nonstop commercial-free music with a flow you will enjoy and a little weirdness for fun to break the tunes. If you are into headphones, this is your venue, as all the music played is decompressed and remastered before it hits the airwaves. It's all about the music and nothing more; you will feel the flow! Music that hasn't seen the light of day on any radio station for many years, along with the weirdness of the "70s.... Join us today!
