Magic Mushroom Hour w/Omega We Own the Night Episode 2365
from Magic Mushroom Hour with Omega · host mrheld
Another episode of the Magic Mushroom Hour is coming your way tonight... A fun, jam-packed two hours of Classic Rock, Progressive Rock, and timeless sounds to help carry you through the night. We begin in the colorful haze of the psychedelic era with a couple of unforgettable tunes from Strawberry Alarm Clock, before moving into the power and energy of The Who and Thin Lizzy. From there, the signal shifts toward the storytelling and emotion of Adam Duritz and Counting Crows, followed by the Hoodoos, the alternative edge of the Smashing Pumpkins, and the mellow, reflective sounds of John Mayer. Then we pick up the pace... We'll spend some time with Steve Miller and the spirit of the San Francisco music scene, ride along with John Kay and Steppenwolf, and drift into the timeless groove of "Dancing Days." The journey continues with a couple of tunes from everyone's favorite band from Liverpool, followed by the lush sounds of the Moody Blues, Stephen Stills and Manassas, then into the poetic darkness of Jim Morrison and The Doors, and the thoughtful songwriting of Jackson Browne. We'll hear a couple of memorable tracks from Uriah Heep, followed by one of the greatest songs ever recorded — "Wooden Ships" from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Then it's on to a classic cut from the Charlie Daniels Band off the legendary Saddle Tramp album. As the night deepens, we'll settle into a long set from Van Morrison, letting his voice and songwriting carry us into another place and time. Then we bring it home... Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, Rival Sons performing one of my favorite Creedence Clearwater Revival songs, the beautiful sounds of Harry Nilsson, and Tom Petty. And as the final frequencies fade into the night, the Marshall Tucker Band will provide the soundtrack for our journey home. Somewhere in these songs are pieces of our lives... old friends...summer nights...first loves...long drives... and memories waiting to be rediscovered. We follow the signal... and let the music lead the way. I am Omega... a traveler of frequencies. Tonight we open another doorway through sound — where memories awaken...where emotions linger... and where the songs of the past still breathe. Great songs....Great writers. Timeless sounds from another time. This is the Magic Mushroom Hour — an FM transmission on 95.5 FM, Marshall, North Carolina. No ads...No promotion....No money involved. Just the love of music. Classic Rock and Progressive Rock... Sometimes mellow...sometimes hard... always a journey. Headphones are recommended. Every track is decompressed, remastered, and tuned from the original recordings — restoring the depth, warmth, power, and space these songs were meant to have. The signal is clearer now...but the soul remains the same. So settle in... turn the lights down low... leave the noise of the world behind... and let the frequencies carry you. Join us.
