„Kérjük minden nap Máriát, a Magyarok Nagyasszonyát, hogy segítsen bennünket magyarként, hívőként, keresztényként szeretetben élni” – hangzott Palánki Ferenc debreceni megyéspüspök fohásza az ősi kegyhelyen,Máriaradnán, Magyarok Nagyasszonya ünnepén. A szerdai szentmise főcelebránsa szerint a Szűzanya szeretetét őseinktől örökültük, s bár mindannyian Mária gyermekei vagyunk, mi, magyarok, sajátos módon tiszteljük Jézus anyját. Az Arad megyei Máriaradnára hívek ezrei zarándokoltak el az Alföld, a Bánság és Székelyföld, illetve Magyarország több településéről, egyesek gyalog vagy kerékpáron tették meg az utat.
