Research Claims Men Can Get Depressed During And After Pregnancy, Too New research suggests the post-baby blues aren’t limited to women. A study of expectant and new fathers in New Zealand found that those who were already stressed or in poor health had elevated symptoms of depression when their partners were pregnant and nine months after birth. The study, published online by JAMA Psychiatry, analyzed antenatal depression symptoms (ADS, before birth) and postnatal depression symptoms (PDS, after birth) in 3,523 men. Participants completed interviews while their partner was pregnant and again nine months after the birth of their child.  ==========================Americans Just Broke a New Record for Stress and Anxiety Every year since 2007, the American Psychological Association has published an annual survey of Stress in America. In January 2017, for the first time in its 10 year history, the survey found a statistically significant increase in stress levels in America, compared to last year. Americans are more stressed than ever and we, as mental health professionals, are challenged to provide insights and tools to help people manage their stress so they can live happier, healthier lives.===================================Polly Franks, a Thalidomide baby, had never walked without crutches much less tried to bring a sexual predator to justice, when in 1997 she took on the challenge of stopping one of America’s most prolific sexual predators from her wheelchair. Devil at My Door (www.devilatmydoor.com) a new book, tells the story of Joseph Frank Smith, a sexual predator, and of one woman’s determination to end his trail of pain and misery. Ms. Franks welcome to the program.
