Man Pulled To Safety After Five Hour Rescue From Underground Shaft In Italy

Caposele (AV) – Firefighters carried out an overnight rescue operation in Caposele, in the province of Avellino, after a man fell into an underground shaft while carrying out work activities. Teams from the Lioni and Avellino stations worked for more than five hours, performing a delicate excavation operation to reach the man and recover him safely. At the end of the rescue effort, the 37-year-old was brought out and handed over to medical personnel for the necessary treatment.
