Mantissa Premiere: Kris Vango - One Of All (Binaural Meditation)

from Mantissa · host Mantissa

For out latest premiere, we bring you the final track from Kris Ravi's latest self released album - Ravi. The whole album is full of wonderful soundscape tracks, with our personal favourite being the ending track. For this album, Kris Vango travelled extensively in India recording sounds from local musicians, ashrams, religious rituals and yogic mantras from bustling cities to quiet Himalayan temples. The theme for this album was the Sun, and everything that Kris felt embodied the Sun; the dominant and ever-present life force energy. Ravi weaving together contemporary electronica with ambient meditation sentiment to bring you a brilliant ambient album. In his own words: KRIS VANGO's vision is to map and document our solar system through narrative sound, dedicating an album to each planetary body. Sonically, KRIS VANGO traverses a cross pollination and re-evolution of club music’s sonic textures, with a re-connecting of the Shamanic origins of uniting collectives into a shared experience–utilising genre and collaboration as tools to explore varying planetary landscapes. In live performance, Kris constructs a sonic journey that often feels like a tour through the cosmos, intentionally blending sounds of each planetary concept piece together with live instrumentation and voice manipulation; injecting falsetto harmonies seamlessly into contrasting abrasive beats and slow paced ambient meditations.
