Danish producer Hedo Hydr8 arrives on Grid for the label's 20th release with a colorful and daring EP. BBB is a track straight out of the 2010s, when post-dubstep and grime were booming. It features rapper Killa P, a discreet grime legend who has worked with some of the genre's most iconic producers. BBB is raw and uncompromising, yet irresistibly catchy and danceable. This unusual track is also available in an Alternative Mix, with additional rhythmic elements to make it more rolling and accentuate its club vibe, whereas the original mix was more broken. In line with bass scene releases, Hedo Hydr8 also made a VIP version of the track, darker, more strident, and deeper, which fans of the genre are sure to choose! The record starts off with „Terq Brown“, a mellow entry into the music, built from ambient structures and repeating synth loops that were recorded again and again with newly incoming percs and FX. A2 then goes into „Sol, Invierno Anestesiado“. A trippy half-stepper with metal pipe sounds which multiple times leaves you wondering where in the beat you are. This was recorded on a Friday night, as we skulled back some vinho verde and dug through the collection together one last time, before one of our residents leaves this iteration of Digger’s HQ for foreign shores. After enjoying a summer of harder fare at festivals, we took things a little bit deeper and darker than normal, but the mix comes out the other side with the usual Digger’s Paradise style intertwined throughout. A passionate vinyl enthusiast, he’s known for soulful selections and hypnotic grooves. He also embraces progressive and classic styles of house, as well as techno, weaving them into his sets in a thoughtful and unconventional way. His productions have been released on labels such as Crossfade Sounds, Gentleman Music, Otake Records, Runa Records, Routless Records, and Vidno Airlines – with several of these also appearing on vinyl, making them especially aligned with his sonic philosophy and aesthetic. Zeu5 has performed at numerous clubs across Poland, including in Warsaw, Łódź, Poznań, Toruń, at the Uszanowanko Festival in Kraków, and at Audiobar in Płock, his hometown. "I wanted to record a set with faster pace and a higher energy and I had put together a playlist with recent favourites in that category - but when I started recording, the tracks I had gathered didn't really fit the vibe at that moment (mainly because I was recording in a studio and not at a party) so I dug into other folders and made some spontaneous choices. the mix still became energetic and pacey but more suited to the listening experience." @samgoku

W133 is excited to welcome Tørrid to the label. The emerging Nürnberg-based artist and passionate drummer presents his „Broken Dreams“ EP, showcasing his deep love for percussion and rhythm. This release marks a shift in his sound, focusing more on experimental and percussive elements. The EP opens with Brain Damage, a mind-bending acid-influenced track, with swirling sounds that twist and weave in unexpected directions. The second track, „Essauira 2“, picks up the percussive groove of the opener, gradually introducing a haunting synth line that adds a sense of eerie tension. „No Puppy“ follows, with its melancholic pads creeping in softly, creating an emotionally rich atmosphere. It takes a slightly slower pace, presenting a rolling, jungle-infused rhythm that transitions into a beautiful sequence of melancholic polyphonic arps. The EP concludes with „Bad Girl“, the fastest and most energetic of the four.
