Marci Warhaft-Nadler - Author - "Fit vs Fiction"

from The Boomer and The Babe Radio Network · host Deborah Louise Brown

As a working member of the fitness industry for over two decades, Marci has seen first hand how difficult is has become to get to the truth behind what being FIT really means; and as the proud mother of two young boys, she understands the social pressures targeting kids at younger and younger ages. With her “Fit vs. Fiction” program, Marci visits schools and discusses all the misinformation and negative, inaccurate messages that we are bombarded with on a daily basis. Too many young people are turning to the media to help identify themselves and are often left feeling inadequate when they can’t look like the models they see in magazines or actresses on TV. Marci exposes the ugly truth behind some of the beautiful images they are faced with every day and explains the manipulation that goes into these pictures before they hit the stores. Many health and phys-ed classes instruct their students to “eat right and exercise”, but very few actually explain what that means, and they leave these students vulnerable to the advice they get from the billion-dollar beauty industry that is more concerned with healthy profits than healthy children.
