Like many researchers, she uses animal models (mice) to study long-term effects. But the data gathered applies to humans who have been using stronger and stronger pot over the last 50 years, when the use rate climbed from about 5% to around 50% according to a recent Gallup poll. They discuss the medical use of marijuana for relaxation and anxiety reduction but point out that the long-term consequences are not well understood.
