Mario Fernandez's Company Check Said WHAT To The Gunman?

from True Crime Today | Daily True Crime News & Interviews · host Real Story Media

A rental company owned by two people accused of hiring Jared Bridegan's killer wrote him a check with "Good luck!" on the memo line. Seven weeks after the murder. That detail is now part of a Jacksonville trial that started with its confessed gunman refusing to cooperate. Henry Tenon told investigators he pulled the trigger and signed a plea deal to testify against Mario Fernandez and Shanna Gardner. Four years and one day after Jared Bridegan was shot, Tenon stood before a judge and asked for a trial of his own instead. Prosecutors did not object. Bridegan was 33, worked at Microsoft, and had four children. He was killed on February 16, 2022, after dropping his twins at Gardner's home and stopping to move a tire off the road, his two-year-old daughter still in the car. A bullet missed her by inches. A grand jury charged Fernandez with a count that existed only because that child was in the vehicle. Prosecutors quietly dropped it two weeks before jury selection. Days later, the same prosecutor told the court the state has overwhelming evidence of a conspiracy — and that an unidentified second person drove away from the scene in a pickup truck. Fernandez's defense says every check the family company wrote, including the $10,000 that reached Tenon's account within weeks of the killing, paid for legitimate landscaping and roof work. Prosecutors counter with three dozen calls between Fernandez and Tenon that same month and a jailhouse informant who says Fernandez tried to pin the murder on Jared's widow. Fernandez has pleaded not guilty. Trial runs August 17 through 28. LINKS, DISCLAIMER & HASHTAGS Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
