Mr. Don Feder highlights that one of the darkest trials awaiting the human race is Demographic Winter: the worldwide decline in birthrates and the impending catastrophes that this will cause. He  explains that the Japanese, having one of the lowest fertility rates in the world, has coined the term "lonely-death" to describe the phenomenon of persons dying without any living relatives to mourn or bury them. Japan has developed an industry to address this problem of humanely disposing 'lonely' corpses. Feder warns that we are heading for "terra incognito" unknown land where we do not even know what this implosion of population will cause. Nevertheless, Feder offers sage advice: marriage is the answer to Demographic Winter! Generally, where there are marriages there are babies. The worldwide marriage rate has declined more than the fertility rate and if the marriage issue is mended then perhaps the coming demographic crisis can be averted.
