One way to better use your time is to learn how to use the software you have. The more you can get out of the software, the more time you'll have to hang out with your members. If you are a business owner, please consider the software you choose to give your community manager and staff. Don't drop 17 different types of software on them because you read the website's front page and think it's fantastic. The less software you have, the more you use it. For example, most people only use 10% of Google Docs or 10% of Word. All those features never get found, let alone used. However, learning how to use the applications and software saves time in the long run. As my grandma used to say, a stitch in time saves nine.
