Fr Aaron Spinelli talks about his Filipino and Sicilian heritage and focusses today on the helps that Filipino culture gave him to growing up Catholic in England What is the Mariathon?Every May, Radio Maria stations all over the world fundraise for each other, gathering financial support for another Radio Maria somewhere in the world. We call this the Mariathon. This year (2025) Radio Maria England gives thanks for the riches of the Catholic faith in the Philippines which spills out into our parishes here in the UK with the presence of strong Filipino communities that serve so generously. Supporting Radio Maria in the Philippines is a way for us to give back and support the faith in the Philippines, a vast country with a thriving faith but where many do not have regular access to the sacraments and a Catholic radio can do a lot of wonderful work.
