In todays conversation, I speak with Max Thomas from the United States who is a young rising star in both the 100m and 200m. He recently ran a personal best of 9.90 in the 100m at the 2026 Florida Relays which is the fastest time by any American at the top of April and 2nd fastest time in the world.Max attended the University of Southern California and at the 2025 NCAA Championships, finished 2nd place in the 100m. Shortly after, he decided to forgo his final year of eligibility and instead turn pro signing with On. In addition to his recent 100m personal best outdoors, he finished 4th place in the 60m at the 2026 USA Indoor Championships.In our conversation, Max breaks down his 9.90 personal best including his race pattern and execution. He reflects on his 2025 NCAA season and explains why he decided to turn pro early.
