Mel Hauschildt - IRONMAN World Record, bucket-list races, training tips and more!

from The Pacing and Racing Podcast · host The Pacing and Racing Podcast

Today's episode we got to chat with Mel Hauschildt! So I’m excited to be connecting with Mel today because not only is she another SCODY advocate like myself, but she also probably has the biggest list of accolades in Triathlon that quite frankly I’ve ever seen! Now I’ve never been one to list everything out; but to highlight a few of her stats here; she was a 2x IM 70.3 World Champion, ITU Long Distance World Champion, she’s a 30x IM 70.3 Champion (Yes.. 30 as in 3 0), she has 23 course records and the most sub 4:10 IM 70.3’s held by any female, and honestly the list goes on. Now Melissa actually owned the IRONMAN World Record by a female with a 8:31:05 win at the IM North American Championships in April 2018!! In today's episode we go over details on her most recent accident and how she's been coping with the injuries. We  also pick her brain on what are the best races out there for an age grouper to add to their bucket list, and we talk a ton about training tips for age groupers! This is definitely a Podcast that requires your full attention because there's just so much great info! Thanks Mel!
