Melancholia (Enquiring of the Sage)

from Robert Scott Thompson · host Robert Scott Thompson

Inspired by the Lars von Trier film, among other things. An unpublished (knock off) composition that speaks volumes to my inner psyche from time to time. Performed on a Yamaha Disklavier (DC5M4). An extended meandering piano piece - largely an homage to Satie, one of my heroes and the Godfather of ambient music. A "cheaper imitation" than John Cage's in all likelihood. Piano was a bit out of tune on this day.
