Melanie Hudson and Martin Daly TD Interview - Adrianne Murphy 17/07/25

from Ros FM 94.6 · host ROS FM

About 1 in 7 women in Ireland will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Approximately 3,700 new cases are diagnosed each year and up to 20% of these patients can then go on to develop Lymphedema, a problem with their lymphatic system, which requires regular lymphatic drainage. One such patient is Melanie Hudson who has found that while hospital treatments for the cancer itself have certainly improved for patients, there is certainly a lack of post treatment aftercare and HSE lymphatic drainage specialists, especially in the Roscommon area. Adrianne chats here with Melanie about her experience and they are then joined by Martin Daly TD, who has been putting forward Melanie’s plight to the Health Minister and he updates her on his progress to date.
