ACCESS OUR SHOW NOTES AT https://www.compeatnutrition.com/what-impacts-your-metabolism/ BMR OR Basal Metabolic Rate is defined as the amount of energy you would need to function at rest. The amount of energy you need to perform the most basic (basal) functions to sustain life - breathing, circulation and cell production included. This number does not include walking, playing with the kids, chasing after the dog, stairs, hanging out washing, lifting weights, running, cycling, circuit trading, etc etc. you get the drift 😅 Your BMR is measured accurately with gas analysis, but it is possible to get a guesstimate using your age, gender, height and weight. But I will give you a hint - it is more than the 1000-1200cal diet/detox / ‘lifestyle program’ being marketed to you. So what happens when you eat below this number? In today's ep, we'll explore this and much much more!
