MFL - Films About Filmmaking #5: BOOGIE NIGHTS and BOWFINGER

Our favorite topic to dive into on Movies For Life is Films About Filmmaking, and we're FINALLY back with another one this week! These two films were super fun to dive into and talk about and once again, they ended up working really well together. First up for discussion is Michele's pick of a movie about a different kind of filmmaking than we've talked about before - Paul Thomas Anderson's BOOGIE NIGHTS from 1997! The darkly humorous look into the porn industry of the 70s and early 80s is driven by a stellar cast each portraying an interesting and complex character, and we talk about them all! Then we get into Brian's pick for the show (which was originally supposed to be paired with SINGIN' IN THE RAIN) and have an absolute blast discussing Frank Oz's 1999 comedy BOWFINGER!
