Michael Alig was once the self proclaimed king of the Club Kids, a group known for outrageous fashion, excess, and a nightlife built on spectacle and drugs. But behind the glitter and chaos was a darker reality. In 1996, Alig and his associates murdered fellow club kid and drug dealer Angel Melendez, a crime that would expose the violence, paranoia, and moral decay beneath the surface of the scene.In this episode, we trace Alig’s rise to fame, the culture that enabled his behaviour, and the events leading up to Angel Melendez’s death.
