Den Namen "Johanneskirche" trägt das Gotteshaus erst seit 1994. Ein stattliches Geläut mit fünf Glocken ertönt aus seinem mit einer Kuppelhaube bekrönten Fassadenturm. Es wurde 1954 von Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling in Heidelberg gegossen.
