Vic Verchereau welcomes Claire Herhold, who is Director of Education at Historical Society of Michigan ™. Established in 1828, the Historical Society of Michigan is our state's oldest cultural organization and helps connect Michigan’s past to its residents and organizations through programs and events, publications, awards, workshops, networking opportunities, and support for local history organizations. The society is a member-supported educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. They receive no appropriated funds from the state of Michigan. Their popular History Hounds Lectures Series is a fan-favorite membership benefit. Each week on alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they offer a one-hour lecture on a history topic presented by a wide variety of historians and content experts from across Michigan and beyond. Past topics have included military history, shipwrecks and other maritime topics, famous people from Michigan's past, nostalgic blasts from the past like the history of Faygo pop, and so much more.
