It’s the season for ho-ho-horror, and how are we meant to feel the festive spirit without watching some horrible nasty Christmas movies? Noah, Eliza and Anthony kick off a Christmas horror edition of Midnight Marathon with Christmas Evil (1980) and Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2 (1987) - two movies about an unhinged Santa taking their yuletide trauma out on those they deem ‘naughty’. Thing is, the first movie is a bonafide cult classic, loved by John Waters and featuring a tremendous lead performance from Fiona Apple’s dad (??!!). The second movie is an insane feat of feature-film recycling, and one of the worst lead performances we’ve ever seen. GARBAGE DAY indeed.The pairing goes down like a litre of rotten egg nog, and our mistletoe marathon is only just beginning.
