Presentato in collaborazione con la manifestazione, l’Eyewear Design Award 2026, alla sua seconda edizione, ha portato designer emergenti provenienti da Italia, Germania e Stati Uniti sul palco di The Vision Stage, dove sono stati svelati concept di eyewear ispirati allo sport, capaci di fondere moda, performance e ingegneria«Oltre cento candidature da studenti provenienti da tutto il mondo hanno dimostrato l’impatto vitale e globale del design eyewear - ha detto alla cerimonia di premiazione del 1° febbraio Lorraine Berton, presidente di Mido - Ogni progetto ha espresso passione, competenza e un profondo legame con la nostra cultura e con il made in Italy. Il Cereda Award mira proprio a questo: mettere in luce il futuro dell’occhialeria nelle mani dei giovani talenti, portando avanti l’influenza di Sergio Cereda sull’industria e l’impegno di Mido come piattaforma internazionale che connette talenti, aziende e creatività a livello globale».I giovani talenti sono stati soprattutto individuati presso la Libera Accademia di Belle Arti di Brescia, già premiata lo scorso anno con Tea Rocco, con due vincitori nel 2026: al secondo posto, con un premio di 5 mila dollari, Elisa Albertini e, al primo, Giada Tosana (nella foto, durante la premiazione), con 10 mila dollari, i cui valori hanno pienamente rispecchiato il brief di quest’anno, focalizzato su un progetto di occhiali ispirati allo sport, al movimento e alla performance. Con 2.500 dollari, Mahra Mustafa dell’Istituto Marangoni di Milano ha conquistato il terzo posto del Sergio Cereda Eyewear Design Award 2026.Due designer hanno, infine, ricevuto un Premio Special Recognition da mille dollari, selezionato personalmente dal fondatore Harvey Ross, per l’eccezionale creatività e la qualità degli elaborati scritti: Megan Broad Merkel del Savannah College of Art and Design, negli Stati Uniti, e Alessio Accardi dello Ied di Torino.A cura della redazione
