话说在清朝的乾隆年间，山西的冀城县外啊，有个张桥镇，镇子边上住着个姓张的屠户，专门以杀牛为业。　　这张屠户家世代都以宰牛为业，祖上几代积累了一些银钱，在镇子最边缘买下很大的一处土地，足足能盖个三进的院子。但张家只盖了两溜房子，中间一溜住人，前面的房子是店面，专卖牛肉牛骨，后面就修了个院子，用茅草搭了一间牛棚。
