Take your shoes and socks off, and let's get moving!Walking barefoot offers sensory information about the environment - textures, materials, cleanliness, temperature, etc. It's also a great tool for grounding. We become aware of our surroundings and things that would otherwise go unnoticed as our feet come into contact with various objects and substrates. Additionally, walking barefoot helps improve posture and strengthens the muscles in the feet and ankles. From an Ayurveda perspective, as you walk barefoot you are engaging various marma points, small energy clusters located throughout the body, but with greater concentration on the bottoms of the feet that relate to specific organs.
