Mini Message, Big Update

from Show and Tell · host Katie 'Monty' Dimond

Hello! Welcome to the Guinness World Records Shortest Podcast Episode! 😂 Just dropping in with an important pod update. This ep is a little message from Monts, which is much more succinct than what I wrote below, which is long-winded as always. To say Monty hasn't been in tip-top health for a while now would be a bit of an understatement. Things have recently escalated to a point where she is spending more time in bed than she is out of it, which is not really conducive to livin' la vida loca. Or recording a podcast. So, we've made a decision to take a proper break from the pod from now until mid-Jan so that Monts can get her health sorted, and I might attempt to get some sleep. The plan is to go out like haggard old chickens, and come back like glamorously rejuvenated swans - just like in Extreme Makeover. A classic for the ages. 😂 It'll be the first time since we started our little show that we're taking a proper break - and A LOT of shit has gone down over that time. There's been cancer and migraines and surgeries and hyperacusis. There's been new homes, new states, kids' first days of school... Monty and Sam even gave us our first pod baby with Oti. We've lost loved ones, jobs, our minds; even ourselves from time to time. But the one thing we had through it all was each other - and you lovely listeners. When S+T started 11 YEARS AGO, the main aim was to create a supportive, authentic and non-judgemental space to connect through conversation. Is it a bit ironic that we now have an entire segment called 'judgemental opinions?' Probs. 😂. But the beating heart of Show + Tell - from the original website, to the current, multi award-winning* podcast, has always been friendship. And friendship is exactly why we're putting the brakes on for just a second - because we love and care about each other enough to know that it's what we both need. Thank you so much for listening and please keep in touch via our socials. Keep us in your pod feed, because there's a high likelihood that we will try and drop in from time to time during the break... it just won't be with the normal regularity. Until then, we can't wait to see you when we return in 2025, either in full Miss America gowns with more hair extensions than Snooki from Jersey Shore (another classic), or perhaps fully leather-clad a'la Elvis' 68 Comeback Special. We hope you have a BEAUTIFUL Christmas, and we can't wait to fill your ears with more unapologetically real shit in the new year. LOVE YOUSSSSSSSSSS xxxxxx *This is a lie.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
