Miracles and Mercy: The Cities of Refuge & The Wedding at Cana (Day 121)

What happens when the ordinary meets the Divine? Today in the Gospel of John, we witness Jesus’ first miracle at a wedding in Cana. By turning water into wine, He reveals His glory and signals that the time of "ceremonial washing" is giving way to the "new wine" of His Kingdom. In the Old Testament, the tribal allotments are finalized, and God establishes the Cities of Refuge—a vital system of mercy for those seeking protection from judgment.Today’s Scripture:📖 Joshua 19–21:19 – The final six tribes receive their inheritance, and Joshua is given his own city as a reward for his faithfulness. We see the official designation of the Cities of Refuge, ensuring that justice is tempered with mercy, and the beginning of the list of cities given to the Levites.📖 John 2:1–25 – Jesus attends a wedding in Cana where He performs His first sign, transforming water into wine.
