Misconceptions of NLD, Learning Differences and Chronic Migraines
from Living With an Invisible Learning Challenge · host Jennifer Purcell
Nonverbal Learning Disability is a learning challenge that makes it more difficult for individuals to process nonverbal information. This includes understanding things like body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, social cues, hand signals, and other behaviors that make up the bulk of social interaction. NLD or NVLD also has physical challenges such as impaired fine motor skills and lower visual-spatial awareness. People with NLD can also process information more slowly which makes it difficult to do things like mental math, retain information, and think abstractly.Links for articles:https://nvld.org/defying-misconceptions-of-my-learning-disability-by-erin/https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-biggest-misconception-of-nonverbal-learning-disabilitieshttps://www.huffpost.com/entry/non-verbal-learning-disorder-nvld-a-misunderstood_b_5833730fe4b08c963e3443c4https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/five-misconceptions-about-learning-disabilitiesLink for BetterHelp sponsorship: https://bit.ly/3A15Ac1Link for Pateron: patreon.com/LivingWithAnInvisibleLearningChallengeLinks for new podcasts:Shero: Be Your Own Hero Trailer: https://open.spotify.com/show/1O7Mb26wUJIsGzZPHuFlhX?si=c3b2fabc1f334284Chats, Barks, & Growls: Convos With My Pet Trailer: https://open.spotify.com/show/74BJO1eOWkpFGN5fT7qJHh?si=4440df59d52c4522Think Out: Free Your Imagination Trailer: https://open.spotify.com/episode/71UWHOgbkYtNoHiUagruBj?si=3d96889cfd2f487b
