We were having breakfast andwaiting for the Sun to peak over the Himalayan mountains as themorning mist rolled across the valley below. The assembled groupincluded a local with whom I still communicate with frequently and themoment in time is etched into my memory.At some point during the breakfast, I began feeling profoundly sad andreached over to get my hot tea. I excused myself and wandered over tothe safety rail and stared off deep into the snowcapped AnnapoornaMountains. In that moment, I missed my family and wondered whatthey were doing or if they were wondering what I might be up to half aworld away. Someone in the group took a picture of me not knowing Ihad wet eyes at the moment.Today, I miss the friend who was with us as much as I missed my familythat day, but the joy is knowing that the connections we make in lifeare the legacy we truly own.
