My guests this week are Mr. Ryan Duran and Mr. Josh Jenkins, Missionaries to Cuba. “Only one life, twill soon be past; Only what’s done for Christ will last.” ~ C.T. Studd There are approximately 450,000 missionaries around the world and the United States makes up 1 out of every 3. This week’s guests describe what it was like to not only feel the calling to go abroad and serve others but what it was like to enter Cuba, a communist country where Christianity as a whole is not welcomed. My guests Ryan Duran and Josh Jenkins have only been a tandem for just over two years, but their love for serving and desire to share their faith took them to a place that most Americans could never imagine. Regardless of your political favor or your religious beliefs, most people can admit that we have it pretty good here in America compared to a lot of countries around the world. Ryan and Josh share how their friendship came to be and how a “by chance” conversation led them to both wanting to bring humanitarian aid and share their faith in a third world country that is heavily stricken with poverty. The country as they describe it is riddled with ran down buildings, a severe lack of food and an even greater need for clean drinking water. Since it is a Communist country there are no political parties. There is only the elite and the extreme poor. This episode will definitely pull at your heart strings.
