Mississippi legislature to host redistricting hearings across the state

Now that the Supreme Court has ruled that race-based voting districts are unconstitutional, Governor Tate Reeves expects state lawmakers to redraw congressional, state legislative, and state Supreme Court lines ahead of the 2027 elections. Members of the Legislature’s joint redistricting committee will hold hearings across the state over the next two months to hear from voters.
