Mississippi secretary of state begins preparing for possible return to 2022 legislative maps

Governor Tate Reeves expects state lawmakers to redraw congressional, state legislative, and state Supreme Court lines now that the Supreme Court has ruled that race cannot be the predominant factor in drawing congressional and legislative districts. Secretary of State Watson has penned a letter to LTG Delbert Hosemann and House Speaker Jason White, saying his team has begun to prepare for elections under a legislative map that recently had to be altered.
