MK337 We Need to Talk About Lynchings (Joss Whedon Interview, Bill Cosby Documentary, History of Lynchings in America)

from Minority Korner · host James Arthur M., MacKenzie Green

NOTE: We do talk about sexual assault, sexual violence, along with lynchings and forms of torture to Black bodies. If any of these things are upsetting to you- please take care as you listen.  It’s time to kick off Black History Month! But first up we address the interview of our fallen hero Joss Whedon who did not do himself any favors doing a full interview with The Cut, and yes, he is the true monster. Where’s Buffy? Speaking of childhood ruining monsters, we have to talk about the new documentary about Bill Cosby. Then in the main korner James takes a deep dive into  Lynchings, an unfortunate, American past time. The startling history, numbers, participation by white America and the unwillingness for the government to do anything. It’s that time of year to not only celebrate Black culture, but look at the hard truths about this country and its history. Guest Co-Host: MacKenzie Green (she/her)-  Vice President of Social Media for Who What Wear/Clique Brands. She previously served as a social media director at BET+, and worked for Betches, Telemundo, Paramount, and NBCUNIVERSAL. She is a graduate of Columbia Business School and the University of Miami.
